Tawny owl. Our most commonly heard owl with a pair calling ‘to wit, to woo’.

Red fox. Sleek and bright eyed.

Natterer’s bat. Cute and furry flying mammal, feeding on insects.

Female Stonechat bird. Most commonly found on heathland and conifer woods.

Mole. Velvet subterranean with lovely large paws for digging.
Approximately 6.5cms tall and 3 cms wide.
Pygmy shrew. High pitched squeaking, and busy, busy hunting insects.
Approximately 4.5cms tall and 2.5cms wide.
Death’s head hawk moth. The largest moth found in the British Isles. Distinctive skull-like markings.
Approximately 3cms tall and 1.5cms wide.
Rose chafer beetle. Like a beautiful green jewel.
Approximately 1.75cms tall and 0.75cms wide.
